On Tuesday, Kodansha announced that Hajime Isayama’s Attack on Titan manga will end in April after a successful run of 11 years. The final chapter of the series will be published in the May issue of Besastu Shonen Magazine on April 9, 2021. The 34th and the final volume of the manga will be released on June 9.
Isayama had previously mentioned that the story of Attack on Titan was 98% done. So fans were already aware of the series ending soon. With the latest news, a concrete date has been set for the end of the series. However, fans do not seem to be ready for the series coming to an end in four months.
Isayama had been saying that he would end Attack on Titan manga in three years since 2012.
“I’ve been saying for the last eight years that I’d finish [Attack on Titan] in three years, and finally, it seems like it will be completed. It’s been a very long time coming, but I hope you’ll stick with me until the end. The editorial team never rushed me to finish the series, but I’ve been continually asked “when will it end?“. Thank you for waiting for me. I will do my best until the last page so you will feel satisfied with what you’ve read.”

Volume 33 of the manga is set to be released in January. Attack on Titan has over 100 million copies in circulation worldwide. The fourth season of the anime adaptation is currently airing in Japan.
The manga has also inspired many spinoff manga and novels, several spinoff anime, video games, and a live-action film project.
