Anime News Network, a media news website confirmed on Saturday, March 19, 2022, that PVR Cinemas has not yet secured the distribution rights for the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 anime film in India.

No further explanation was provided by the company on the matter, however, PVR did claim that it intends to bring further anime film releases to Indian theatres.

On March 13, the official Instagram account of PVR Cinemas posted an image confirming that the theatre chain will release Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie in India.

The post featured JJK 0 movie poster, alongside the posters of Morbius, Prithviraj, and RRR.

However, the post was deleted shortly. On March 16, PVR posted a new image replacing Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie with the Ambulance movie poster, alongside the former posters of Morbius, Prithviraj, and RRR.

The sudden change took a bitter twist among the fans who wanted an explanation for the change of the most anticipated JJK 0 movie.

Amidst these demanding comments, a certain fan hinted that the Jujutsu Kaisen film might come to India in May this year. He backs up his statement by saying his friend who works at PVR has confirmed it.

Although, other fans were not convinced by this revelation.

The Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie released in North American theatres on March 18, 2022, in both subbed and dubbed versions. It grossed US$14.8 million in its first weekend in the U.S. Box Office, racking up an average of US$6,482 per-screen at 2,286 locations.

Before Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie, PVR cinemas had previously released Demon Slayer: Mugen Train and My Hero Academia: World Heroes Mission in India.
