The Apothecary Diaries author Natsu Hyuuga will no longer make an in-person appearance at the Overload NZ Anime & Manga Convention, which is scheduled to take place in New Zealand on Sep 26-27.
The official The Apothecary Diaries X account announced the author’s absence on Sep 21 citing health reasons and apologized to fans who had been looking forward to meeting the author.
Hyuuga subsequently revealed on her official X account that she is currently hospitalized and explained that her blood test results are not yet at a satisfactory level. This led to the decision for her to withdraw from the in-person appearance.
Hyuuga also apologized for the inconvenience and to those who had been waiting to meet her.
Although Hyuuga will not be traveling to the venue, she will still participate in an online session during the convention.
Her planned activities have been adjusted to include a live online Q&A, allowing fans to meet and interact with her remotely.
Moreover, the in-person book hand-over sessions will also no longer take place. Fans who had booked a session will instead receive an autographed card personally signed by Hyuuga, together with an original sticky note featuring The Apothecary Diaries artwork.
The Overload committee will contact the affected attendees directly with further details.
The official The Apothecary Diaries X account said that Hyuuga’s health and recovery would be prioritized while expressing commitment to preparing a revised program for fans at the convention.
The account also thanked fans for their understanding and continued support of Hyuuga and The Apothecary Diaries.
Meanwhile, the first cour of The Apothecary Diaries Season 3 will start airing on Oct 2, 2026, followed by its original theatrical film adaptation which will release in December. The second cour of Season 3 will only air in April 2027.
