Kagurabachi Chapter 132 New Release Date Revealed Following Author’s Illness

Kagurabachi

Kagurabachi chapter 132 was originally slated to release on Sep 13, 2026, in Weekly Shonen Jump’s combined issue 42/43. Unfortunately, the release was delayed, and fans were forced to miss out on the latest installment of the hit series.

The official X account of Kagurabachi addressed the hiatus, revealing that the chapter’s release was pushed back due to author Takeru Hokazono’s sudden illness.

However, there is no immediate cause for worry, as the statement also noted that the author had recovered from the said illness and a new release date has been set for the upcoming chapter.

Now, Kagurabachi chapter 132 will release on Sep 28 in Weekly Shonen Jump issue 44.

The serialization of “Kagurabachi” that was scheduled to appear in Weekly Shonen Jump issue 42•43 combined (on sale September 14) will be on hiatus due to the author’s sudden illness. The author has already recovered, and the continuation of the manga will be published in the next issue, Weekly Shonen Jump issue 44 (on sale September 28),” a translation of the announcement on X read.

This is not the first time that Kagurabachi has gone on a break due to author Hokazono’s poor health condition. Earlier this year in June, the manga went on a break for over a month, beginning with Weekly Shonen Jump issue 31.

The editorial department had released a statement at the time explaining that while Hokazono expressed his desire to continue drawing, they opted for a planned break after careful discussion to ensure the long-term stability of the series and to prioritize the creator’s health.

The Kagurabachi manga is currently in the Seitei War arc, which acts as part 2 of the narrative. It is a flashback arc that focuses on protagonist Chihiro’s father, Kunishige Rokuhira, the creation of the Enchanted Blades, and the titular war against the mysterious Mikaboshi clan.

The manga’s chapters have been collected into 12 tankobon volumes as of September 2026, and the series has over 4 million copies in circulation as of April 2026. Kagurabachi is seen as Shonen Jump’s next big hit by the editorial department.

An anime adaptation by Cypic will officially release in April 2027.

The franchise is currently on a world tour to promote the anime adaptation, with dates for part 2 of the tour recently announced. The promotional event involves conducting world premiere screenings of the first 20 minutes of the anime’s first episode across major conventions globally.
