Black Clover Season 2 is reportedly planning to adapt the remaining portion of Yuki Tabata’s manga across 26 episodes, with the sequel expected to be split into two parts spanning 2026 and 2027.
As previously announced, the anime is set to return on Oct 3, 2026, after a long hiatus.
It had been widely speculated since the announcement that the sequel would consist of either 24 or 26 episodes, and with only a week left before its premiere, new leaks circulating online are now claiming that the anime will have 26 episodes in total.
The first part of Black Clover Season 2 will consist of 13 episodes and cover the Spade Kingdom Raid Arc. The remaining 13 episodes are reportedly planned for 2027 and will cover the manga’s Final Arc.
There are currently 122 chapters of the Black Clover manga left to be adapted by the anime. If the episode count is 26, then approximately 4-5 manga chapters will be adapted in a single episode.
The original TV anime adapted the manga through Chapter 270 across its 170 episodes.
According to SugoiLite, the reported 13-episode count for the second part comes from the current planning stage and is subject to change.
Ayataka Tanemura will serve as director for Black Clover Season 2.
Tanemura previously directed episodes 153 through 170 of the original Black Clover anime, as well as the 2023 film Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King.
The Black Clover anime officially went on an indefinite hiatus on March 30, 2021, concluding its continuous four-year run. Studio Pierrot brought the adaptation to a halt primarily because the production had virtually caught up to Yuki Tabata’s ongoing manga source material.
With the anime rapidly approaching the latest events of the Spade Kingdom Raid arc, the production committee chose to suspend the weekly series rather than air extensive non-canon filler or risk outpacing the author.
Tabata launched Black Clover in Weekly Shonen Jump in February 2015. After nearly nine years in the magazine, the series transferred to Jump GIGA in December 2023 to accommodate the author’s production schedule.
The manga concluded in May 2026 with chapter 392.
