Black Clover season 2 episode 5 is reportedly set to feature Hiroyuki Yamashita, a veteran director known for some of Naruto Shippuden’s most memorable fights.
According to a reported staff leak, Yamashita will serve as the episode’s storyboard artist and animation director.
Yamashita is known for his work on several major battles in Naruto Shippuden, including Kakashi vs. Obito, Madara’s rampage against the Shinobi Alliance and Naruto vs. Sasuke’s final battle.
He has also directed episodes in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations and contributed to Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War as an animation director and key animator.
His involvement in the fifth episode of Black Clover Season 2 could make it a notable installment, particularly with the anticipated confrontation between Magna and Dante among its key highlights.

Yamashita is not the only notable name on the episode’s staff list.
The episode also credits Kurika Yamagata, Hirokimi Shiratori, Kazuya Saitou and Motohiko Kurihara as animation directors.
According to the official website of Black Clover, the premise of season 2 episode 5 is as follows:
After rushing to Nacht’s aid, Asta joins forces with Liebe through Devil Union to take on Lilith. Meanwhile, Magna and Zora of the Black Bulls arrive to assist Jack, who has been fighting Dante of the Dark Triad, now wielding 100% of his devil’s power.
Confident in his overwhelming magic power, Dante initially shows little concern for his opponents. However, Magna unleashes a new spell he developed over six months: Secret Flame Magic: Soul Chain Deathmatch, a forbidden spell that uses forbidden words.
Even so, Dante remains a formidable opponent thanks to his Body Magic. Undeterred, Magna takes him on with the sheer grit and determination that earned him Yami’s recognition.
Titled “The Best vs. The Worst,” episode 5 is scheduled to air on Oct. 31 at 11:00 p.m. JST.
