The launch comes as Crunchyroll points to strong digital manga engagement among Indian anime fans. According to data shared by the company, 81% of Indian anime fans surveyed read digital manga at least monthly, while 56% read it weekly.

Globally, 69% of anime viewers surveyed across 11 markets said they read digital manga monthly or more, with Crunchyroll users 1.4 times more likely than non-users to read digital manga weekly.

“For years, fans have asked us to bring manga closer to their Crunchyroll experience, and we are excited to make that a reality for more fans around the world. Anime and manga are deeply connected, and bringing them together gives fans more ways to discover the stories, characters, and worlds they love,” said Asa Suehira, Chief Content Officer, Crunchyroll.

“Expanding into new territories and languages is an important step toward making Crunchyroll an even more complete home for anime fans everywhere,” he added.

In addition to India, the manga service has also launched in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Australia and New Zealand.

Crunchyroll Manga originally launched in the United States and Canada in October 2025. Its overall library has since grown to more than 450 titles from publishers including AlphaPolis, COMPASS, J-Novel Club, Kodansha, MobileBook.jp, Shueisha, Square Enix, Titan Manga, VIZ Media and Yen Press.
