Natsume’s Book Of Friends Season 7 Gets Confirmed

The official website of Natsume’s Book Of Friends announced on July 1, 2023, that the anime will be getting a 7th season after a break of six long years since the broadcast of season 6.

The production decision of the new season is a part of the franchise’s 15th anniversary celebrations.

A new 15th anniversary commemoration PV announcing Natsume’s Book Of Friends Season 7 has also been unveiled.

A logo for the 7th season along with 15th anniversary visual were also revealed.

Takahiro Omori is returning as chief director at Shuka, with Hideki Ito is returning to direct the new season. Sadayuki Murai will be in charge of overseeing the script. Akira Takata will serve as the character designer, and Makoto Yoshimori will compose the music.

Additionally, on July 7, an official online store for the anime “Natsume’s Book of Friends” will open. There will also be a Twitter giveaway campaign where 15 lucky winners will receive signed posters by Hiroshi Kamiya and Kazuhiko Inoue.

Anime adaptations produced by Brain’s Base (seasons 1–4) and Shuka (seasons 5–6) were broadcast on TV Tokyo for 6 seasons in 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2016 and 2017.

Natsume’s Book of Friends the Movie: Ephemeral Bond was released in theaters on September 29, 2018.

A new “film” of two special episodes titled Natsume’s Book of Friends: The Waking Rock and the Strange Visitor was released in theaters on January 16, 2021.

Natsume’s Book of Friends is a Japanese manga series by Yuki Midorikawa. It started in Hakusensha’s shojo manga magazine LaLa DX in June 2003, where it ran until April 2008; it has been serialized in LaLa since July 2007. The chapters and special chapters have been collected in 29 tankobon volumes as of January 2023.
