Crunchyroll Brings Witch On The Holy Night Movie To Indian Theatres

Crunchyroll, the anime streaming giant, announced today the Indian and North American theatrical date for the all-new anime fantasy film Witch on The Holy Night. The movie will come exclusively to theatres starting January 29, 2027. Check the trailer here:

The movie is animated by ufotable, the famed animation production company behind the award-winning film Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle I. The film, distributed by Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment, will be available in both Japanese with English subtitles as well as dubbed in English.

This is one of the first times when India and North America will have a simultaneous theatrical release of an Anime film.

Witch on the Holy Night is adapted from the 2012 visual novel of the same name, written by Kinoko Nasu and developed by TYPE-MOON. TYPE-MOON is the company behind the award-winning Fate franchise, which began with the best-selling visual novel Fate/stay night and has since expanded across anime, manga, games, and feature films.

The studio has also collaborated with ufotable on other fan-favorite titles, such as the Garden of sinners, Fate/Zero, Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works], and the Fate/stay night [Heaven’s Feel] theatrical trilogy.

TYPE-MOON continues to captivate audiences with its meticulously crafted stories, among which are the Fate series, including Fate/Grand Order. Animation is provided by ufotable, the studio that continues to mesmerize the world with its breathtaking visuals, from TYPE-MOON works to titles like Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.

Official Film Synopsis:

Aoko Aozaki, an ordinary high school girl, is actually a Magician who lives in the modern world though she is still only an apprentice. As she spends her days living alongside her housemate, Alice Kuonji, striving to become a full-fledged Magician. The girl meets a boy. This is the beginning of one young girl’s story the tale of a Witch.

The film also has some of the famous Japanese Voice Actor’s reprising their roles. Such as Soujyuro Shizuki voiced by Yusuke Kobayashi, Aoko Aozaki voiced by Haruka Tomatsu, and Alice Kuonji voiced by Kana Hanazawa.
