What a blissful day for the Blue Lock fans as the official website of anime has showered a bunch of new details on Aug 12, 2022, including its release date, a brand new trailer and new cast members.

Blue Lock anime is set to make its debut on Oct 8, 2022 in Japan. A new visual was also revealed by the staff to commemorate the announcement.

The opening theme “Chaos ga Kiwamaru,” previewed in the trailer, will be performed by UNISON SQUARE GARDEN. The ending theme, titled “WINNER,” on the other hand, will be performed by Shugo Nakamura

The newly announced cast members for Blue Lock anime include:

Natsuki Hanae as Ikki Niko

Ryota Suzuki as Junichi Wanima and Keisuke Wanima

Takahiro Sakurai as Sae Itoshi

Additionally, a special edition of Blue Lock: The Blue Prison Dormitory will be screened in Japan for a limited time from Sep 23 to Oct 6, 2022. The special edition will include the first and the second episode of the anime, as well as bonus footage featuring the cast.

The website moreover released the third official chibi illustration featuring Kazuki Futako, Junichi Wanima, Keisuke Wanima, and Sae Itoshi.

Blue Lock anime is set to air in Japan on October 2022. It will be broadcast on TV Asahi’s NUMAnimation programming block.

The manga’s anime adaptation is being done by Eight Bit studio and directed by Tetsuaki Watanabe with Shunsuke Ishikawa serving as assistant director. Music will be provided by Jun Murayama, Taku Kishimoto is handling series composition and the script, Masaru Shindō is providing the main character designs and serve as chief animation director, and Hisashi Tojima serving as the chief action director.

Blue Lock is a Japanese manga series written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. It has been serialized in Kodansha‘s Weekly Shōnen Magazine since August 2018. A spin-off manga focusing on Seishiro Nagi has also started serialization in the July issue of Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shonen Magazine.

Blue Lock won the 45th Kodansha Manga Award in the shōnen category in 2021.
