An official spin-off of Blue Lock manga focusing on Seishiro Nagi has started serialization in the July issue of Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shonen Magazine, which released on June 9, 2022. The spin off is titled Blue Lock- Episode Nagi.
The spin-off is drawn by Kota Sannomiya and follows Seishiro Nagi before he joins the Blue Lock, a training regimen designed to create the world’s most egotist striker.
The plot for the spin-off is described as follows;
Nagi, a high school sophomore whose habit is to say, “It’s a pain in the ass,” leads a lethargic life, unmotivated in any way. One day, Reo Mikage asks Nagi to play soccer with him..
To commemorate the release of Blue Lock- Episode Nagi, the cover of the magazine features an image of the encounter between Nagi and Reo. Along with the cover, a feature article on the upcoming Blue Lock anime and a manga explaining the Blue Lock regimen and the main character Nagi were published.
Blue Lock is a manga written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. It has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine since August 2018. The manga is receiving an anime adaptation by Eight Bit. The anime is set to premiere in Japan in October 2022.
Blue Lock won the 45th Kodansha Manga Award in the shonen category in 2021.
