The official Twitter account of Dengeki Bunko announced on April 5, 2024, that Hajime Kamoshida and Keji Mizoguchi’s Rascal Does Not Dream light novel is entering its final arc.
The final arc kicks off with the 14th volume, titled Seishun Buta Yaro Wa Girfriend No Yume Wo Minai (Rascal Does Not Dream of a Girlfriend), and is set to release on Aug 9, 2024.
The story then reaches its conclusion with the 15th volume, Seishun Buta Yaro Wa Dear Friend No Yume Wo Minai (Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend), scheduled for release on Oct 10, 2024. Both volumes will feature limited editions with a bonus drama CD.
Author Hajime Kamoshida shared his comment on the conclusion of the light novel, stating, “Before I knew it, it’s been 10 years since ‘Rascal Does Not Dream’ began. Before I knew it, we’ve reached the final chapter. I’ve already finished writing the manuscript, so I hope to have a great 10th anniversary with everyone.“
Rascal Does Not Dream is a Japanese light novel series written by Hajime Kamoshida and illustrated by Keji Mizoguchi. ASCII Media Works have published thirteen volumes since April 2014 under their Dengeki Bunko imprint.
A manga adaptation with art by Tsugumi Nanamiya has been serialized in ASCII Media Works’ seinen manga magazine Dengeki G’s Comic since December 2015.
An anime television series adaptation of the first five volumes by CloverWorks, titled Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai, aired from October to December 2018. An anime film adapting volumes six and seven, titled Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl, premiered in June 2019. Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out, a second film adapting volume eight, premiered in June 2023. Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid, a third film adapting volume nine, premiered in December 2023.
An anime adaptation of the University Student Arc has been announced.
