World Trigger Manga Once Again Goes On A Break Due To Author’s Health

The series will, however, return in the September issue set to release on Aug 4, 2022.

The official Twitter account of World Trigger manga announced on June 27 that the manga will go on a one month break due to the poor health conditions of the author Daisuke Ashihara.

The manga chapter, which was supposed to release in the August special issue of the Jump Square magazine on July 4, will be suspended.

The series will, however, return in the September issue set to release on Aug 4, 2022.

“We apologize for the inconvenience to our readers who have been looking forward to the issue,” the official account tweeted.

The manga had previously taken a month long break in the June oversized issue of Jump Square, released on May 2, and returned in  July issue of Jump Square, released on June 3.

World Trigger had also taken a month off in January of this year, citing Ashihara’s health as the reason for the hiatus. The series had also taken a month-long break last year in the in the magazine’s November issue.

World Trigger also known in short form as WorTri, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Daisuke Ashihara. It was initially serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from February 2013 to November 2018, and transferred to Jump Square in December 2018. Its chapters have been compiled by Shueisha into 24 tankōbon volumes as of December 2021. In North America, the manga has been licensed for English release by Viz Media.

An anime television series adaptation produced by Toei Animation was aired on TV Asahi from October 2014 to April 2016. A second season aired from January to April 2021, and a third season aired from October 2021 to January 2022.
