Kouji Miura’s Blue Box manga concluded its five-year serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Issue No. 33 with chapter 250, released on July 13.
The final chapter was published with a center color page, bringing one of the magazine’s longest-running romance series to a close.
The issue also commemorates the manga’s conclusion with congratulatory messages from the anime’s main cast, including Shoya Chiba (Taiki Inomata), Reina Ueda (Chinatsu Kano), Akari Kito (Hina Chono), and Chiaki Kobayashi (Kyo Kasahara), as well as theme song artists.
The manga’s volume 27 is set for release on Oct 2, with the final volume 28 following on Dec 4.
The manga’s conclusion follows the recent ending of Hima-Ten! in Weekly Shonen Jump’s June 29 issue, leaving Someone Hertz as the magazine’s only ongoing romantic comedy series.
Miura launched Blue Box in Weekly Shonen Jump in April 2021. The manga became one of Shonen Jump’s standout romance titles during its run.
It received the Global Special Award at the Next Manga Awards 2021, ranked fourth in the Nationwide Bookstore Employees’ Recommended Comics 2022, and has surpassed 10 million copies in circulation.
Meanwhile, the Blue Box franchise will continue through its anime adaptation. The first season aired from October 2024 through March 2025, while Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on Oct 4.
