Anime Trending, a popular anime news, polls, and charts portal unveiled on Jan 30, 2022, that My Dress-Up Darling (Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru) anime ranked first in the popularity results for the third week of the Winter-2022 season (January-March).

It beat Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 2 and Demon Slayer placed at rank #2 and #3 respectively.

However, not all fans were ready to agree with the ranking, and some of them called it “fake”, stating that Attack on Titan and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba are airing some of their best episodes near the end of the series.

Some of the comments from angry fans who criticized the chart are as follows:

“This is a slap in the face to Eren Jeager and Tanjirou Kamado,” or “An ecchi romantic comedy for lonely otakus in first place,” “I’m not shocked that the anime community continues to be ridiculed by society “-these are a few more complaints made by some fans.

Nevertheless, some fans of both series are happy to see that the small series is getting recognition irrespective of Attack on Titan having a big fandom.

My Dress-Up Darling is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Shinichi Fukuda. It began serialization in Square Enix‘s Young Gangan in January 2018, and has been compiled into eight volumes as of October 2021. An anime television series adaptation by CloverWorks premiered in January 2022.

It is confirmed with twelve episodes, while the Crunchyroll and Funimation platforms will handle its distribution in the West.
