Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura’s soccer manga Blue Lock is getting a stage play adaptation, which will open in Japan in May 2023. The play will be first performed at Osaka’s Sankei Hall Breeze venue from May 4-7, 2023, and then at Tokyo’s Sunshine Theater venue from May 11-14, 2023.
An official website and Twitter account for the stage play has also been launched, revealing the cast members that will play the roles of the main characters.
Cast members include:

- Shota Matsuda as Rensuke Kunigami
- Ryo Saeki as Hyoma Chigiri
A key visual was also revealed to commemorate the announcement.

Naohiro Ise will be directing and screenwriting the Blue Lock stage play adaptation.
Blue Lock is a Japanese manga series written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. It has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine since August 2018, with its chapters collected in 21 tankōbon volumes as of October 2022.
As of August 2022, the manga had over 10 million copies in circulation. In 2021, Blue Lock won the 45th Kodansha Manga Award in the shonen category.
An anime adaptation by Eight Bit studio started airing in Japan on Oct 8, 2022.
