Kindergarten Wars, the action-comedy manga by You Chiba, has taken the top spot as the best-selling new Japanese manga published in France in 2024.
The announcement was made by the author on X, where they expressed their excitement and gratitude to fans.
“I’m so happy!!! Thank you~! Merci 🎊,” Chiba wrote, celebrating the achievement.
In addition to its strong sales performance, Kindergarten Wars is currently in the running for a ranking of manga that fans most want to see adapted into an anime. Chiba encouraged supporters to cast their votes.
Kindergarten Wars manga entered a two month hiatus following the release of Chapter 102 on Jan 30, 2025, due to the author’s poor health. It will return on March 27, 2025.

Kindergarten Wars began serialization on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ app and website in September 2022. Its chapters have been collected in 13 tankobon volumes as of January 2025.
The plot follows Rita, a former legendary hitman who works at a kindergarten attended by the children of the world’s most powerful figures.
Kindergarten Wars earned a place in the top 10 of the Manga We Want to See Animated Ranking, at AnimeJapan 2024. It also ranked 3rd in the 2023 Tsugi Manga Awards’ Web Manga category and placed 8th in the 7th TSUTAYA Comic Awards.
