Laid-Back Camp & mono Manga Go On Hiatus Due To Author’s Health Condition

The editorial department of Houbunsha’s Manga Time Kirara magazine revealed that creator Afro’s Laid-Back Camp and mono will be going on a hiatus.

The decision to pause both series was taken as Afro suffered health issues after working on serializing two titles at the same time.

While mono will be going on hiatus for an extended period, the author revealed on their official X account that Laid-Back Camp will only be on a short break following the release of chapter 110 part 2 next week on the Comic Fuz website.

“For ‘Yuru Camp△,’ we plan to take a short break from updates starting from chapter 110 (2), which will be added next week. We will also announce here once the resumption schedule is decided,” Afro noted in their post.

The editorial department added that they will reveal when the manga is set to return on a later date, and apologized to fans who have been looking forward to reading the latest chapters of both works.

Afro started serializing Laid-Back Camp in Manga Time Kirara Forward in July 2015 before moving to Comic Fuz in 2019. It follows Rin Shima, Nadeshiko Kagamihara, and their classmates as they travel to campsites across Japan. The manga’s chapters have been collected into 18 tankobon volumes as of November 2025, with Yen Press handling the English release.

Meanwhile, mono, which is a 4-koma manga, started serializing in Manga Time Kirara Miracle! in May 2017 before transferring to Manga Time Kirara Carat in December 2017. The narrative revolves around students who form a Cinephoto Club to explore photography equipment and video technology while visiting locations in Japan.

Both series have received anime adaptations.
