Jujutsu Kaisen: Megumi Is The Only One Who Can Save Yuji Right Now!

Yuji is clearly in a tough spot in the latest chapters of Jujutsu Kaisen and Megumi might be key in helping him out of this situation.

Warning: The following article contains spoilers from the Jujutsu Kaisen manga. Read ahead at your own discretion!

Yuji is in grave danger. In the latest Chapter 140 of Jujutsu Kaisen, both Naoya and Okkotsu caught up to Yuji. They both have no intention of letting him make out of the situation alive; that much is clear. They might have different motives, but if Yuta is intent on killing Yuji, then he is surely in a tough spot.

Yuta is stronger than ever before, and Naoya is extremely powerful too. Yuji can only handle so much with his little experience and Choso’s company against these bigshots.

With such pressing circumstances, Yuji needs a miracle to make it out alive. And the only person who can play this role right now is Megumi Fushiguro.

How can Megumi save Yuji?

It is a rat chase, and there is no way to win it other than winning over one of Naoya or Okkotsu to Yuji’s side. Of course, Naoya is out of the question here.

Megumi wants to protect Yuji by finding him, but Yuji wants to protect Megumi by keeping away. He won’t step back from fighting Naoya to keep him away from Megumi.

But what can Megumi do to protect Yuji from both Yuta AND Naoya while also protecting himself? With none of his friends around, he is the best shot at placating Yuta’s anger. Megumi said in chapter 10 that Okkotsu is the only senpai he sincerely respects. This means that Megumi and Okkotsu crossed paths before and know each other.

Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 10

It is quite possible because Megumi knew Gojo before he enrolled in Tokyo Jujutsu High. And as far as we understand Gojo, he would never pass up on an opportunity to make two potentially powerful pupils meet.

A familiar face will definitely make Yuta have a momentary pause. He might also help fend off Naoya, who’s trying to kill Yuta’s only friend in okayish condition.

Megumi can then probably explain the whole situation to Yuta, giving Yuji’s version of the story. It is not guaranteed that he will be satisfied enough to not go at Yuji again, but it might give him a different perspective. He may even change his priority to recovering Gojo.

We also think that Yuta does not immediately aim to kill Yuji as explained in one of our previous blogs. He may actually be faking his loyalty to discern the truth. Megumi is the only reliable source of information for Yuta right now.
