The official Twitter account of Horimiya anime announced on Wednesday that the series will be broadcasted in Japan from January 9, 2021. It will air at 24:30 am (effectively January 10, 12:30 am) on Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, and BS11. 

CloverWorks (The Promised Neverland, Rascal does not Dream of a Bunny Girl Senpai) is animating the series. Masashi Ishihama (PERSONA 5 the Animation, From the New World) will be in the directors’ seat. Takao Yoshioka (High School DxD, WATAMOTE) is going to overlook and write the script for the series. Haruko Iizuka (Ensemble Stars!, Children of the Whales) is designing the characters. Masaru Yokoyama (Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, Your Lie in April) is composing the music.

Hori-san to Miyamura-Kun  (abb. “Horimiya”) was a Japanese shōnen web manga series written and illustrated by HERO. It was released in February 2007 on HERO’s website Dokkai Ahen. Square Enix compiled the chapters in 10 volumes under its imprint Gangan Comics between October 22, 2008, and December 28, 2011. Daisuke Hagiwara adapted the manga with a newly redrawn art as Horimiya. It has been serialized since 2011 in Monthly G Fantasy and is published in English by Yen Press.

At first glance, the ultra-popular Hori-san seems like a frivolous high school girl, but in reality, she’s plain, pragmatic, and family-oriented. The original Hori-san to Miyamura-Kun manga was adapted into an original video animation series between 2012 and 2018.
