‘Crank Up The Volume!’: Oda Gives Final Message Before One Piece Live Action Sets Sail

One Piece Live Action

One Piece manga creator Eiichiro Oda had a riveting message in store for fans right before the release of Netflix’s One Piece Live Action series. The message was revealed after the world premiere at the One Piece fan event in Santa Monica on Aug 24, 2023.

In his message, Oda said that even if it was hard to believe, the world of One Piece exists and that it was complete. He then proceeded to ask everyone to watch Netflix’s live action adaptation of One Piece series on as big a screen as possible with the volume cranked up.

Believe it or not, that world actually exists…it’s ready!!” the message begins. “The Live action of One Piece!! Since it’s [on] Netflix, you can watch it in your household or on your smartphone. But it might as well be a movie, so you should watch it on as big a screen as possible, with the volume cranked up, and enjoy it as many times as you’d like!!

Following this, Oda issues a rallying cry to the fans who were gearing up for the live action, asking them to “hear” the fearsome roar of pirates and asking them to keep their food and swords ready, implying that they are about to embark on an adventure themselves.

See, you can start to hear it… the fearsome roar of the pirates! Do you have your swords? Food all ready? Whatever you do, spare your lives! Off you go!! On to the great pirate era!!!” the final part of the message read.

This was Oda’s way of encouraging the fans to embrace the upcoming Live Action adaptation with the same enthusiasm and passion they have for the original manga and anime.
