Chainsaw Man Stage Play Reveals New Visual & Cast Members

The official website of Chainsaw Man stage play adaptation dropped its first key visual on July 10, 2023, following its announcement in December 2022.

The visual provides fans with their first look of the cast members who have been roped to play the beloved characters,

Newly announced cast members include:

  • Naotake Tsuchiya as Denji
  • Masahide Kuda and Yutaka Nakasone as Chainsaw Man
  • Aya Hirano as Makima
  • Mizuki Umetsu as Aki Hayakawa
  • Mahiru Coda as Power
  • Minami Tsukui as Himeno
  • Masashi Taniguchi as Kishibe
  • Haruki Iwata as Kobeni Higashiyama
  • Masahide Kuda and Yutaka Nakasone as Chainsaw Man
  • Ore no Graffiti as Samurai Sword (person)
  • Shoma Yoshioka as Samurai Sword (devil)
  • Shiori Izawa is returning to voice Pochita from the TV anime series

The Chainsaw Man stage play is scheduled to take place at The Galaxy Theatre in Tokyo from Sep 16, 2023, to Oct 1, 2023. Additionally, it will run at Kyoto Theatre in Kyoto from Oct 6-9, 2023.

 Fumiya Matsuzaki, known for directing ‘BANANA FISH The Stage,’ will be in charge of script and directing the the stage play. Shunsuke Wada will handle the music composition, while HIDALI will be responsible for choreography.

Chainsaw Man is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto. Its first part was serialized in Shueisha’s shonen manga magazine Weekly Shonen Jump from December 2018 to December 2020; its second part began serialization in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ online magazine in July 2022. Its chapters have been collected in 12 tankobon volumes as of October 2022.

In North America, the manga is licensed in English by Viz Media, for both print and digital release, and it is also published by Shueisha on the Manga Plus online platform.

An anime television series adaptation produced by MAPPA was broadcast from October to December 2022.

As of November 2022, the manga had over 20 million copies in circulation, making it one of the best-selling manga series. In 2021, it won the 66th Shogakukan Manga Award in the shōnen category and won the Harvey Awards in the Best Manga category in 2021 and 2022.
