The Chainsaw Man franchise is continuing with a new anime installment titled Chainsaw Man: Assassins Arc, which was officially announced on Dec. 21 during Jump Festa 2026.

The newly revealed project will serve as a direct continuation of the story following the currently screening theatrical film Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc.

The Assassins Arc spans roughly 18 chapters in the manga and follows Denji as he becomes the target of elite killers from around the world, all seeking the Chainsaw Man’s heart, pushing the series into more high-octane face-offs and political tensions.

The announcement was accompanied by the release of a teaser visual and promotional video. Information regarding the anime’s release date, format and cast are yet to be revealed.

Chainsaw Man Assassins Arc Visual

Based on Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga, Chainsaw Man centers on Denji, a teenage boy living in extreme poverty while attempting to repay the debt left behind by his father. After forming a contract with Pochita, the Chainsaw Devil, Denji is resurrected as “Chainsaw Man,” a hybrid with a devil’s heart who works as a devil hunter.

The manga began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in December 2018 and has surpassed 34 million copies in circulation.

Part 1 of the manga, known as the “Public Safety Arc,” concluded in December 2020. Part 2, titled “School Arc,” began serialization on Shonen Jump+ in July 2022.

The first season of Chainsaw Man, produced by MAPPA, aired from October to December 2022. Following this, an anime film, titled Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, premiered in September 2025. The film has grossed over USD 179 million worldwide, making it one of the highest-grossing Japanese films of all time.

The film has also been announced as eligible for consideration in the Animated Feature category for the 98th Academy Awards.
