Fushiguro Megumi is one of the three major protagonists and is the serious part of the trio. He is currently the strongest of the trio and has feats that do reinforce this.
Being abandoned by his parents at a young age and being sold to his own clan has made him a tough guy. To top it all off, he is a person of interest to the cold-blooded King of Curses – Sukuna himself.
Let us take a look at his quotes to try to understand his personality and know what might make him one of the strongest characters in the Jujutsu World.
Megumi Fushiguro Quotes
“Divine Dogs…. Go and Feast!”Chapter 1
This is the first time we see cursed techniques being used. An impactful moment for the audience as they enter the world of Jujutsu.
“Don’t move! You’re no longer human. Under Jujutsu regulations I will exorcise the curse known as … Yuji Itadori!”Chapter 1
“Even if he is a potential vessel he must be executed under Jujutsu regulations. But I don’t want to let him die.”Chapter 2
Megumi seemed to be built like a focused and serious student who stuck to the rule book no matter what happened.
But as early as chapter 2, we see his true feelings and emotions as he does not want to let Yuji die even if he is now a host for Sukuna.
The two quotes above kinda show this very well.
“He’s not even worth saving alive. Why would I save his dead body?”Chapter 6
Again, we see Megumi being very serious and practical about everything. He understands that in such difficult situations, the living take priority over the dead.
This is unlike Yuji who thinks with his heart and wants to fulfil his promise with the woman.
“If things go wrong … It’s my responsibility to finish him.”Chapter 8
“Itadori will return. Even if it means his death. He’s that kind of guy.”Chapter 9
Megumi has built a good friendly relation with Yuji and completely trusts him.
In the short amount of time he knew Yuji he has already figured out the kind of hardworking guy Yuji is.
“If only more good people could receive fairness. I’ll save people whether or not it’s fair!”Chapter 9
“I didn’t save you because it was the logical thing to do. I didn’t want to see a good person no matter how dangerous die. I did have to think about it. In the end. It was a selfish, emotional decision. But that’s okay. I’m not a hero. I’m a jujutsu sorcerer. That’s why I never regretted saving you. Not even for a moment.”Chapter 9
“I will become stronger. I’ll do anything it takes.”Chapter 10
A shared quote between Megumi and Nobara who decide to get stronger after Yuji’s apparent death.
“I don’t care if I’m right or wrong. I only believe in my conscience. I will follow my conscience and save people. If you disagree with that then … let’s agree to curse each other!”Chapter 44
“I’ll kill you if you die again!!”Chapter 48
Oh c’mon, there is no deep meaning or explanation for this Megumi Fushiguro quote. We just had to put it here. It is very animanga type.
“Never mind! Bring forth the deepest shadows … and don’t worry about the exact form for now. Just push it forward from your cursed energy … Here we go!! Domain Expansion!”Chapter 58
Unlocking his Domain Expansion as a high schooler is a very great feat. This shows us the Megumi is indeed a genius who will be one of the strongest characters in the Jujutsu world in the future.
“Do you know what the bare minimum requirement is for human interaction? “I will not kill you … So please do not kill me.” You can replace “kill” with anything else. Basically you shouldn’t cross any line that violates another person’s dignity. You should acknowledge each other’s existence. That’s the rule. You ignored it and fed your stupid ego and treated it like a nuisance.”Chapter 59
NOTE: THE QUOTES AHEAD CONTAIN MANGA SPOILERS.
“I’ll see you later. Sorry Itadori. Hey! You piece of crap! I’ll be the first to pass on. Good Luck.”Chapter 117
After being severely weakened and on the run form Haruta Shigemo, Megumi decides he has no choice but to summon his final card, Mahoraga – a shikigami so strong that no one has been able to exorcise it yet – to kill Haruta
“It’s our fault. Don’t be selfish and give up all alone. We aren’t heroes fighting for justice. We’re jujutsu sorcerers. No one can ever truly judge us … So we must continually prove the worth of our existence. And we don’t have the luxury of thinking about ourselves. We’ve just got to save people. I believe that was the original principle of your actions. So start by saving me Itadori.”Chapter 143
