Re:Zero fans are in for a treat as acclaimed animator Vincent Chansard is said to be a part of the upcoming episode 13 of the anime, which releases on March 5, 2025.
According to the preview, Re:Zero Season 3 episode 13 will focus on the fights happening across Priestella city, but especially the one between Garfiel and the legendary Eight Arms Kurgan.
Chansard’s sequences are a part of this particular fight. The Garfiel vs Kurgan fights is one of the most high intensity fights in the current arc – a literal brawl.
Given how highly anticipated the fight is, and also thanks to Chansard’s reputation (known for animating the fight between Sukuna and Mahoraga in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 and also many noteworthy sequences in One Piece anime) his involvement in the upcoming episode will surely be a welcome news for fans.
In addition to Chansard, the upcoming episode 13 will be storyboarded by Susumu Nishizawa, who is well known in the fandom for action choreography and storyboarding, which once again will be a good news for the fans of the anime.
Nishizawa had previously worked on the 5th episode of Re:Zero Season 3, and it featured the introduction of Capella and her fight with Subaru in her Dragon form, along with some crisp action sequences involving Wilhelm, Garfiel and Kurgan.

The second cour of Re:Zero season 3, titled the Counterattack arc, started airing on Feb 5, 2025. The season consists a total of 16 episodes.
White Fox returned to animate the third season with Masahiro Shinohara at the helm of the series. He replaced Masaharu Watanabe, who had directed the previous season of Re:Zero anime. Tappei Nagatsuki is supervising the anime.

The plot of Re:Zero Season 3 is described as:
“A year has passed since the liberation of the ‘Sanctuary,’ achieved through Subaru’s fierce battle against the attacking Elsa and his contract with Beatrice during the confrontation with the Great Rabbit. The Emilia camp, preparing for the royal selection, had been enjoying peaceful and fulfilling days with everyone united.
However, that tranquility comes to an end when a single letter arrives, delivered by a messenger. The letter is an invitation addressed to Emilia from Anastasia to the city of water gates, Priestella, one of the five major cities of Lugunica and a candidate for the royal selection.
Accepting the invitation, Subaru and his companions head to Priestella, where various reunions await them. Some are unexpected, some are unintentional, and one is yet to come. Beneath the surface, malevolent forces stir, and an unprecedented crisis looms.
Once again, the young man faces a harsh and challenging fate.“
