KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! season 4 is officially set to premiere in 2027, with animation studio ENGI taking over production for the latest installment of the series.
The announcement was accompanied by an ultra teaser visual, as well as the reveal of the anime’s main staff and returning cast.
Takaomi Kanasaki will once again return to serve as chief director on the new season, with Manabu Kurihara confirmed to be the director.
ENGI becomes the fourth studio to animate the KonoSuba franchise, following Studio Deen, J.C.Staff and Drive.
The main voice cast will reprise their roles, including Jun Fukushima as Kazuma, Sora Amamiya as Aqua, Rie Takahashi as Megumin and Ai Kayano as Darkness.
In addition to this, a special anniversary promotional video to commemorate the anime’s 10th anniversary milestone was released featuring a newly rearranged version of the first television season’s opening theme, “Fantastic Dreamer.”
The video revisits memorable scenes from across all the seasons of the anime.
The franchise also unveiled the key visual for a 10th anniversary exhibition scheduled to run from Oct 12 through Oct 31 at Akihabara UDX in Tokyo.
Season 4 was originally announced in January 2026 during the franchise’s 10th anniversary celebration.
At the time, Kadokawa unveiled a slate of commemorative projects, including large-scale cast events, an original audio drama, a new official game, and multiple publishing and music releases marking the milestone.
The anime first aired from January to March 2016. It was produced by Studio Deen. It was followed by a second season that aired from January to March 2017. An anime film, KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! Legend of Crimson, produced by J.C.Staff, premiered on Aug 30, 2019.
Later, an adaptation of the spinoff An Explosion on This Wonderful World!, produced by Drive, aired from April to June 2023. Drive also produced the main series’ third season, which aired from April to June 2024.
