During a live stream event of the World Trigger Vol 1. on Sunday, it was announced that the upcoming 3rd season of the Toei Animation-produced series will premiere on October 9. It will air on the NUMAnimation block on TV Asahi on Saturdays at 1:30 a.m.
A brand new trailer for World Trigger season 3 was also revealed.
The third season will feature a returning cast, including
- Tomo Muranaka as Yūma Kuga
- Yuuki Kaji as Osamu Mikumo
- Nao Tamura as Chika Amator
- Yūichi Nakamura as Yūichi Jin
- Nobunaga Shimazaki as Hyuse
The manga is inspiring a stage play that will run at Shinagawa Prince Hotel Stellar Ball in Tokyo from November 19-28, and at Sankei Hall Breeze in Osaka from December 2-5.
To give fans a chance to relive the famous scenes from the anime, a World Trigger THE MUSIC EXPO concert with composer Kenji Kawai will be the held. He will lead the World Trigger Symphonic Band on October 17, the day of the concert, at the Tokyo Garden Theater.
A second live stream, titled World Trigger Channel Vol.2, will be occurring on September 8 on the Toei Animation YouTube channel.
The first season of Daisuke Ashihara‘s manga, World Trigger aired from October 2014 to April 2016, totaling 73 episodes, with the second season starting in January 2021. Both seasons are currently streaming on Crunchyroll, which describes the series as such:
One day, a gate to another world opened in Mikado City. Invaders from another dimension, referred to thereafter as Neighbors, overran the area around the gate, leaving the city gripped by fear. However, a mysterious group suddenly appeared and repelled the Neighbors. This Border Defense Agency independently researches Neighbor technology and fights to protect this world. In a short time, they managed to build an enormous base and prepare a defensive system against the Neighbors. it’s been four years since then.
