Japanese marketing research company, Video Research Ltd., revealed the top 5 most watched anime on Japanese TV for the first half of 2023. The result is based on the estimated national viewership for the first half of 2023 using the overall viewership rating from Jan 1, 2023, to June 30, 2023.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Swordsmith Village Arc took the top spot. According to the data from Video Research Ltd., the final episode of Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba – Swordsmith Village Arc, which aired on Fuji TV on June 18, garnered an average viewership of 15.408 million while it reached a total of 22.87 million.
Average viewership is a measure of the average number of viewers who watched a television program or other type of media content, regardless of whether they watched it live or on-demand, whereas “total reach” is a measure of the number of people who have been exposed to a piece of media content, regardless of whether they actually watched it.
