Solo Leveling Season 3 ‘May Or May Not’ Happen, Producer Says In New Video

Fans eagerly waiting for Solo Leveling anime to announce its third season received a mixed message about its future in a recent video released by Crunchyroll on March 27, 2025.

A-1 Pictures’ animation producer Atsushi Kaneko, in a behind-the-scenes video discussing the production of Solo Leveling Season 2, addressed the show’s continuation.

He stated that Solo Leveling anime will come to an end for now after the final episode of Season 2 is broadcast (episode 25).

Kaneko was not sure if the end of the anime was temporary or not, saying that the anime adaptation of Solo Leveling may or may not continue. However, he added that he personally wanted the anime to continue.

“I hope the next time you watch the anime, you’ll imagine all the creators and staff working behind the scenes. With Episode 25, which will be broadcast soon, the TV anime series Solo Leveling will come to an end, for now. Will this end be temporary or not? I honestly don’t know what the future will bring. With the encouragement and support of everyone watching, it may continue, or it may not,” Kaneko said.

In the end he thanked the fans for their support, and asked them to continue supporting the series. He also teased Jinwoo’s dialogue from the final scene of Season 2, asking everyone to look forward to it. Check out the video below.

Solo Leveling Season 2 has been an enormous hit till now, despite there being criticisms about it’s plot and storytelling. The action sequences and animation, coupled the theme of power fantasy, are the pillars on which its popularity rests.

As it continues breaking more milestones on Crunchyroll’s streaming platform, it is hard to consider that the anime won’t be returning for a third season. However, Solo Leveling‘s production committee might be looking at multiple factors before the announcement of a third season.

The final episode of Solo Leveling Season 2 will air on March 30, 2025 (in Japan).

Crunchyroll is streaming the season in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, and India.

LiSA and Felix from South Korean boy band Stray Kids performed the opening theme song, “ReawakeR”.

A compilation film, titled Solo Leveling: ReAwakening, was released in the theatres in Japan on Nov 29. The film recaped key events from the anime’s first season, and also offer fans a sneak peek at the upcoming second season, featuring its first two episodes.
