Pokémon Celebrates The Holiday Season With Immersive Experiences At IIT Bombay’s Techfest 2025 

From India’s first Pokémon Drone Show and Maharashtra’s biggest, to a Santa Pikachu Parade, Pokémon Fiesta delivers a spirited opening on day 1 of Techfest

Wrapping up the year with a lively sense of celebration, Pokémon has brought a wave of excitement to IIT Bombay’s Techfest 2025, at the IIT Bombay campus in Powai. Transforming the grounds into a vibrant hub of interactive experiences, Pokémon Fiesta welcomed students and visitors of all ages into a world of playful
engagement, technology-led entertainment and larger-than-life moments that continued through 24 December, 2025.

Day 1 unfolded with high energy and enthusiasm as a steady stream of audiences engaged with Pokémon on-ground attractions throughout the day and into the evening. A standout attraction was a special parade featuring Pikachu dressed as Santa, which moved across the campus grounds, drawing enthusiastic cheers, photo moments and setting a festive tone for Pokémon’s presence at the fest.

Another major highlight of Pokémon Fiesta is India’s first Pokémon drone show and Maharashtra’s biggest, which debuted to an enthusiastic response on opening night and will continue to light up the skies daily at 9 PM for the remaining two days as well. Featuring an awe-inspiring display of 1,500 drones, the custom-designed aerial showcase brings the world of Pokémon to life through striking formations, including visuals of Pikachu in its recently introduced saree and kurta look.

Beyond the marquee moments, Pokémon Fiesta Pop-up continues to offer an energetic mix of interactive experiences, including a meet-and-greet with Pikachu. Beyond this, there is also a chance to explore mobile app games such as Pokémon GO and Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket.

Both apps have seen gamers and enthusiasts gathering to explore gameplay, exchange strategies, and enjoy friendly competition. Adding to the excitement are complimentary Pikachu sun visors, which have quickly emerged as a fan-favourite takeaway, along with a bustling Pokémon merchandise booth offering plushies of the various Pokémon.

Overall, Pokémon Fiesta promises to offer visitors an opportunity to engage with Pokémon in a fresh, memorable and deeply immersive way. Speaking about the participation at Techfest 2025, Susumu Fukunaga, Corporate Officer at The Pokémon Company, said, “Our participation at Techfest, IIT Bombay 2025 has been a truly rewarding experience. The enthusiasm we witnessed across Pokémon Fiesta, including the drone show, reflects the deep affection and curiosity that audiences in India hold for Pokémon. The engagement we are seeing across the Pokémon attractions, from the parade and interactive zones to the drone show, has been phenomenal. It has been one of the most animated zones at the fest so far, and as we moved into Day 2 and Day 3, we have always looked forward to welcoming even more visitors to experience it.

With strong participation, visible enthusiasm and a festive atmosphere across Day 1, the showcase remained open to more visitors to experience the joy and immersive entertainment that Pokémon brings to one of India’s most anticipated youth-centric platforms. The Pokémon Company was established to manage the Pokémon brand. officer. He also oversees group companies Pokémon Singapore Pte. Ltd. and Pokémon Taiwan Co., Ltd.
