PVR, in a press release, revealed on Aug 26, 2022, that the One Piece Film Red will release on Oct 7, 2022 in India after all.

The movie will be released in Japanese with English subtitles in 2D format as of now. A new key visual featuring the release date for India was also released.

PVR had earlier said that the film release date was not confirmed, after the posters put out by PVR cinemas containing the current release date went viral online, citing that it was an error by the social media team.

On Aug 11, PVR cinemas placed standees across multiple theatres in Mumbai revealing that One Piece Film Red will release in India in October 2022.

Goro Taniguchi returns to the franchise for the first time since 1998 to direct One Piece Film: Red. Tsutomu Kuroiwa will be in charge of the screenplay. TOEI Animation is animating the film with original author Eiichiro Oda serving as executive producer.

The other staff that have been announced for the movie include:

The main cast from the previous movies will be reprising their roles in the movie.

The movie features and centers on the mysterious character Uta, who is teased to be Shanks daughter in the teaser. Uta is voiced by Kaori Nazuka (voice cast) and Ado (singing cast).
