My Hero Academia has set the Guinness World Record for the most in-demand anime of 2025 based on data revealed by Parrot Analytics.
This is the second consecutive year that the franchise has bagged the Guinness World Record in this category.
According to Parrot Analytics, the global demand rating for My Hero Academia in 2025 was 57.5 times more than that of an average TV series.
The demand is calculated based on consumers’ attention, engagement, desire, and viewership of series. This involves capturing billions of data points each day, including online streaming and download data, social media engagement and actions like reading about a particular show online.

My Hero Academia‘s final season (Season 8) aired in 2025 from October to December. Despite being the shortest season ever in the anime series, with only 11 episodes, the release likely helped My Hero Academia sustain the momentum in demand for the year.
While the anime adaptation has concluded, fans can look forward to the bonus television special which will release on May 2, 2026. Additionally, the second season of the spin-off prequel series My Hero Academia: Vigilantes is currently airing.
In addition to My Hero Academia, other popular anime series which aired in 2025 included Solo Leveling, The Apothecary Diaries, Dandadan and even Sakamoto Days, which topped the streaming charts on Netflix.
Before My Hero Academia‘s two year stint, Jujutsu Kaisen was crowned the most in-demand anime for the year 2023. In addition to being the most in-demand TV anime, Jujutsu Kaisen was also the most in-demand TV show for that year, with its global demand being 71.2 times more than that of an average TV series.
