The official website of the Kingdom announced on April 17, 2025, that the anime is getting a 6th season. It is set to premiere in October 2025 on NHK General TV.
Season 6 will adapt the Western Zhao Invasion arc, marking the beginning of an all-out war between the Qin and Zhao militaries.
A visual was also revealed to commemorate the announcement.
The first season, which consisted of thirty-eight episodes, aired from June 4, 2012, to Feb 25, 2013. A second season aired thirty-nine episodes from June 8, 2013, to March 1, 2014.
The series’ third season aired for 26 episodes from April 6, 2020, to Oct 18, 2021, and a fourth season aired for twenty-six episodes from April 10 to October 2, 2022.
The fifth season aired for thirteen episodes from Jan 14, 2023, to March 31, 2023, of the same year.
Kingdom is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yasuhisa Hara. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s seinen manga magazine Weekly Young Jump since January 2006, with its chapters collected in 75 tankobon volumes as of March 2025.
A live-action film was released in April 2019; a sequel film premiered in July 2022; a third film premiered in July 2023.
