Meanwhile, the anime short episode will focus on Narumi’s everyday life and is titled “Narumi no Heijitsu”. The anime short was announced in celebration of Gen Narumi’s birthday. The spin-off is said to be similar to Hoshino’s spin-off episode released in March 2025.

The Jump Festa Kaiju No. 8 event featured appearances by some of the main cast of the anime, including Masaya Fukunishi (Kafka Hibino), Wataru Kato (Reno Ichikawa), Kengo Kawanishi (Soshiro Hoshina), and Koki Uchiyama (Gen Narumi).

The creator of the series, Naoya Matsumoto, also shared his thoughts with the audience about the event and the fans and cast members who attended.

It roughly translates to:

To everyone who came to see the Kaiju No. 8 stage, and to all the cast members, thank you as always. This year has been a major one for Kaiju No. 8, with the broadcast of season two and the release of the game. The manga has successfully reached its final chapter, but even though the serialization has ended, Kafka and the others continue to come alive through my exchanges with the anime and game production teams, constantly creating new scenes. Kaiju No. 8 as a work is far from over. I plan to keep throwing out ideas nonstop. Please continue to look forward to Kafka and the others in the future.

Matsumoto launched the manga on Shonen Jump+ in July 2020. Its chapters have been collected in 15 tankobon volumes as of March 2025.

Shueisha has also published the series digitally on its Manga Plus platform in English and several other languages. Viz Media began publishing the series digitally in August 2020 and has published the series in print in North America since December 2021.

An anime television series adaptation produced by Production I.G aired from April 13 to June 29, 2024, with a second season airing in July this year.
