The #Hashtag Animation Fest 2022, an event for small group of creators or an individual creator of original animation works will be held online in fall this year. To participate in the fest animators will have to upload their original work on Twitter with the hashtag “#Hash_Anime22” between the time period of November 15, 2022 to December 14, 2022.
The videos can range from 15 seconds to 15 minutes.
The news was announced by Studio Nanahoshi & Onakama, the organizers of the event.
There is no distinction made as to nationality, professional or amateur, individual or team. The competition is open to a wide range of works.
The jury consists of animators, directors, and producers of animation companies. Furthermore, companies such as Arch, Animation Industry Innovation Conference, Kodansha Cinema Creators Lab, Cork, Novo, Fanworks, Flying Ship Studio, Little Bit, and Wacom, as well as animator Ryouchi are supporting the event.
The first ‘#Hashtag Animation Fes’ was held in 2021, which aimed to provide a platform for independent animation works and animators as well as create a system to facilitate growth of anime works. The last event was a short contest with video submissions on SNS. It was well received by the public through the short animation contest by posting videos on SNS, as well as through exhibitions and talk events on distribution.
The crowdfunding and distribution programs from the previous year have yet to be announced.
