The volleyball based anime Haikyu!! will receive film adaptation named Haikyu The Final which will be of two parts. The movies will culminate the series instead of receiving a 5th season.

The announcement was made on the official website of the anime on Aug 13, 2022. TOHO animation also released an announcement video on their official YouTube channel.

The announcement trailer for the Haikyu movie features snippets of voiceover from the characters in the series. The final arc of the story should cover the Nekoma vs. Karasuno arc.

The movie will be produced by Production I.G and will be a continuation of the 4th season of the anime.

Haikyu!! is created by Haruichi Furudate and was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from February 2012 to July 2020. The series has over 55 million copies in circulation. It has 45 volumes containing 405 chapters.

The first season of the TV anime aired from April 2014 to September 2014. The second season aired from October 2015 to March 2016. The third season aired from October 2016 to December 2016.

The season 4 of the series aired in two cours, the first cour aired in January 2020 whereas the second cour aired from October to December 2020.
