The song will debut in the 75th episode of the show on April 30, 2022.

SQUARE ENIX’s ongoing anime Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai, will feature singer-songwriter Mitei no Hanashi‘s “Tobutori wa” (The Flying Bird is) as the new ending theme for the 7th cour of the series. The song will debut in the 75th episode of the show on April 30, 2022.

The songwriter commented on the decision on the new ending theme and said, “I was surprised when I was told because it is a famous work, and so I gave my all as it will be the song that will feature in the final chapter of the series. The song came to me, while I was reading the original and watching the animation. By getting to know the power and warm kindness of all the characters, I strongly realized why it was a story loved by many people, and I have to deliver a song that could end with the love of all of them. The completed product is ‘Flying Birds’. I hope you will love this song along with the final chapter of ‘Dai no Daibouken’.”

After a six-week pause following the Toei Animation hack on March 6, 2022, the show returned on April 16 with its first new episode. The show resumed broadcast with episode 73 titled “Hope in the Flame”.
