Dragon Ball Super And Digimon To Air On Cartoon Network India This Summer

Cartoon Network will roll out new content from Mar 30 under the new brand positioning ‘Redraw Your World’.

The official Instagram account and YouTube channel of Cartoon Network posted a new video on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 which revealed that episodes of Dragon Ball Super and Digimon Adventure including other upcoming titles will start airing on the channel in Summer 2022.

Cartoon Network will roll out new content from March 30 under the new brand positioning ‘Redraw Your World’.

For starters the channel will showcase Ekans – Ek Se Badhkar Snake, Dragon Ball Super, Digimon Adventure, Lamput, The Powerpuff Girls, Ben 10, DC Super Hero Girls, Courage the Cowardly Dog, and Tom and Jerry.

The episodes will be broadcast in English as well as regional languages including Hindi, Tamil, and Telegu in India.

With the new brand, it claims to “introduce stories that encourage kids to fuel their imaginations and empower them.”

Abhishek Dutta, South Asia network head, Cartoon Network, and companion channel POGO said that they will distribute local, home-grown shows as well as localization of their international library of shows. They also claimed to acquire more content over the year.

In addition, the channel has also readied a strong line-up to launch a new block Cartoonito for pre-schoolers.

The aim to relaunch the channel is to increase its viewership in the coming months due to the onset of vacations.

“In 2020, we saw a peak in terms of viewership which normalized in 2021. Now that schools have reopened, we have seen a further dip in viewership. However, over the weekend the viewership continues to remain very high and in comparison to 2019, our viewership is still higher. Considering the fact that there is only 66% TV penetration in India, we expect the viewership to rise going forward,” Dutta told BrandWagon Online.

In May, Cartoon Network plans to unveil a new music video anthem as a hybrid content of animation and live-action by the kids.

“We are doing a 360-degree campaign for Redraw Your Summer with equal focus on traditional mediums such as TV, digital, and below the line (BTL) activations. The aim is to be present wherever kids are,” Dutta added.

In fact, for the ongoing IPL(Indian Premier League) season, the network has partnered with team Rajasthan Royals to co-create content featuring CN’s characters from Ekans and Tom and Jerry.

Cartoon Network has also partnered with Reliance Digital to provide in-store displays and character meet-and-greets in 100 stores across Maharashtra and Gujarat.
