Leaks surfaced online on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, suggesting that Blue Period manga creator Tsubasa Yamaguchi will publish an exclusively new one-shot in the 6th issue of Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon magazine set to release on April 25.
No official title of the one-shot is revealed yet, however, the tentative title is assumed to be “Live How You “Like”(“Suki” ni ikiyou)“. Further details about the plot and production will be revealed at a later date.
Yamaguchi’s Blue Period manga will also receive its first exhibition in June this year. “Blue Period Exhibition-Art is a Gift?” will be held at the Terada Warehouse G1 Building in Tennozu, Tokyo.
According to the Blue Period Exhibition Production Committee, the exhibition aims to provide an event where fans can relive the story of the main character, Yatora Yaguchi, and his journey to qualify at the Tokyo University of the Arts.
The exhibition will exhibit paintings that appear in the series and an immersive theater in addition to various artworks and masterpieces with commentary. More projects will be unveiled at a later date.
Blue Period is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tsubasa Yamaguchi. The series has been serialized in Kodansha’s seinen manga magazine Monthly Afternoon since June 2017 and has been collected in eleven tankōbon volumes as of September 2021.
The series is licensed in English by Kodansha USA. An anime television series adaptation by Seven Arcs aired from October to December 2021.
