The opening three episodes of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity will receive an early, limited theatrical release across the United States from June 25–29, ahead of the anime’s broadcast and streaming debut.
The special screening is being brought to cinemas by Fathom Entertainment in partnership with Viz Media.
It will feature both subtitled and English-dubbed versions.
In addition to the episodes, attendees will be shown bonus material, including behind-the-scenes footage and a recorded discussion with series creator Tite Kubo alongside chief series director Tomohisa Taguchi and series director Hikaru Murata.
According to Fathom Entertainment, the event continues its strategy of bringing niche, fan-driven content to theaters, particularly anime titles with established global audiences.
“Anime fans are in for a thrilling experience as ‘Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War’ wraps up its groundbreaking run on the big screen. Fathom has pioneered the theatrical experience for compelling, non-traditional content with built-in fanbases, and ‘Bleach’ fans are in for a treat with the first three episodes and exclusive, behind-the-scenes content from our friends at Viz Media beginning June 25,” stated Ray Nutt, chief executive officer at Fathom Entertainment.
The Calamity serves as the final installment of the Thousand-Year Blood War adaptation, which has been released in split cours since 2022. The anime adapts the concluding arc of Kubo’s original manga, bringing the long-running story of Ichigo Kurosaki to its definitive end.
During the Jump Festa 2026 panel dedicated to the Bleach anime, Kubo shared that he has been “heavily involved in absolutely everything” for the fourth cour.
He also confirmed that, much like the previous installments, the upcoming cour will include newly added material that expands upon the original manga, an element he has taken particular interest in developing.
