A new trailer, main cast and staff info was also released.

Kujira Anan’s shoujo manga, And Yet, You Are So Sweet, is officially set to receive a live-action film adaptation. The film will release in Japan on March 3, 2023.

An official website and Twitter account were created for the live-action film, which will keep the fans updated on the film’s progress and further details.

The website has also started streaming a new trailer for And Yet, You Are So Sweet film on Aug 16, 2022, featuring the main characters Maaya Kisaragi played by Mei Hata and Sui Chigira played by Naniwa Danshi member Kyōhei Takahashi.

The film will be directed by Takehiko Shinjō, with Haruka Okita serving as the scripwriter. The film will be distributed by Shochiku.

The official website describes the plot for And Yet, You Are So Sweet as:

Maaya (Meiku Hata) is a high school sophomore whose first confession of love in her life has been rejected.
When she is downhearted, she is seen by Chiki (Kyohei Takahashi), the ace of the track team and the most handsome boy in school. For some reason, Chikki-kun, who is popular with the ladies but is always salty toward those around him, proposes to Maaya that they play “one-sided love game”! He says, “Why don’t you have a crush on me instead of forcing yourself to find someone you like? The conditions for playing “kata-jo-yoso” were that she must never fall in love with him and that he must not find out about it. Although it is a promise not to fall in love, Maaya’s feelings are gradually shaken by her secret relationship with Chikki-kun, who is kind and too sweet only for her….
What are Chikki-kun’s true feelings for her? What will happen to their love…?

The official website has also posted comments of the main characters regarding their role and the series, as well as the author’s on the live-action announcement.

Kujira Anan:

I entrusted the work to the wonderful production team and actors. A must-see track and field scene that could not be conveyed in the manga. I’m looking forward to the release of “And Yet, You Are So Sweet” unique to live action.

Kyohei Takahashi:

It’s always been my dream to star in a movie based on a shoujo manga, so I’m really happy that my dream came true this time. I thought that the members would be happy with it, but they worried about me and made me nervous all at once.

I’m really happy that this is my first starring movie, and I’m proud to have played the role of Chigira. I always think that I have a perfect score for handsomeness, so I think I’ll be able to show a lot of Kyohei Takahashi who is handsome from 360 degrees. We will definitely make the whole of Japan go crazy, so please look forward to it!!

Mei Hata:

I was filled with anticipation, happiness, and anxiety when I received the heroine role. Even now that the filming has ended, I have been immersed in my role so much that there is not a single day when I do not think about Maaya.

Maaya-chan says, “It’s kind of like a dream.” For me too, being able to live as Maaya and the time I spent was truly like a dream and has become irreplaceable. It is an important treasure created with the support of many staff members and cast members.

And Yet, You Are So Sweet manga was written by Kujira Anan. It is being serialized in Kodansha’s Dessert magazine. A total of seven volumes have been published as of yet.

The 7th volume was published on June 13.
