With the anime adaptation of The Beginning After The End on the horizon, the question remains as to how closely it will stick to the original story.
During IGN Fan Fest 2025, series creator TurtleMe weighed in on the anime’s faithfulness to its source material, offering insight into the creative process behind the adaptation.
When asked whether the anime would be a faithful recreation of the story fans are familiar with, TurtleMe assured viewers that the adaptation stays true to its source material for most parts.
“I would say for the most part it really does stay faithful to the source material.”
However, he acknowledged that some creative differences are inevitable, as the director’s vision plays a role in shaping the adaptation.
“The director does have his visions, and so far, it’s been really cool seeing those,” TurtleMe explained. “In the end, the anime is a very different medium compared to the comic and the novel. And so you know the director coming in as the expert in this medium as the anime, I’ve learned a lot about how the same story might be told in a little bit different way.”
In the same interview, the author also credited Mushoku Tensei for inspiring the series.
The Beginning After The End anime will be released in April 2025.
It will be produced by Studio A-Cat and directed by Keitaro Motonaga, with Umeki and Takamitsu Kono writing series scripts, Masami Sueoka designing the characters, and Keiji Inai composing the music.
The first season will consist of 24 episodes, split across two cours.
Crunchyroll confirmed that the series will be available to stream on its platform.
