Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 248 ended on a high note as Yuta Okkotsu finally joined the fight against Sukuna. While there are still questions raised over what Maki has been doing this whole time, the fandom is without a doubt gearing up for the much awaited show down between the King of Curses and the Queen of Curses.

Sukuna vs Rika is a matchup that has been discussed in the fandom quite a lot. While it may not match the hype surrounding Gojo vs Sukuna, it definitely has the potential to be one of the top billed fights in Jujutsu Kaisen.

And given how we might get some real action between these two come chapter 249, the theory mills have started working overtime to predict who will emerge as a winner in the fight.

However, get ready to be spoiled. Because apparently Gege Akutami, the author of JJK manga, had already revealed details about who is the strongest among the two and who might win the fight.

Sukuna vs Rika: Who will win the battle?

According to Akutami, Sukuna in his prime was stronger than Rika the Queen of Curses. He revealed this in the Jujutsu Kaisen fanbook answering the question about who was stronger.

Akutami did not hesitate in his answer at all, suggesting that Sukuna was clearly much stronger than his opponent.

In the current scenario, Sukuna has consumed an equivalent of 20 fingers and has successfully managed to reincarnate. Meaning he is very much in the same level as his prime. So, based on Akutami’s answer he definitely should be able to overpower Rika in the upcoming fight.

However, we have to keep in mind that this is not 1v1 fight. Rika is accompanied by Yuta, who is strong in his own right. And Itadori and others too will try to impede Sukuna in one way or the other.

Basically, Sukuna is at a disadvantage when it comes to the numbers. But that has been the case throughout the battle. That didn’t prevent him from taking down Higuruma or putting Choso out of commission. While it is true that none of the current opponents can hold a candle to Sukuna’s prowess, Yuta’s entry into the battle might just tilt the scales in favor of the Jujutsu Sorcerers.

Let’s not forget that Yuta successfully took down Kenjaku, but even that was mostly due to Takaba’s efforts (who’s status too is up in the air).

Judging by how the battle has progressed till now, it is highly possible that Sukuna will emerge as the winner despite the odds against him. But, this is where someone like Maki will have a big role to play. As someone who has broken away from cursed technique and chains of fate similar to Toji, she probably has the power and influence to dictate the proceedings.

But then, we don’t know how the battle will play out. If Rika decides to engage alone with Sukuna, the cursed spirit definitely won’t stand a chance. I mean, Ryu was able to defeat Rika with a serious punch. So, Sukuna shouldn’t sweat much in the battle.

That said, I have a feeling that we have not seen Rika’s complete potential yet. We have seen her fire cursed energy blasts from her mouth, but there is also a possibility that Rika herself has a cursed technique which has not been revealed yet.

If such a development happens, then the ensuing fight would be very interesting. A clash of domains? That is an even more enticing concept!
