Production I.G recently announced that they plan to promote Attack On Titan producer George Wada to CEO and President of the studio. He is also the current Executive Vice President.

While Wada takes the charge as CEO and President, the current CEO and President Mitsuhisa Ishikawa will be promoted to the studios Chairman of the board.

The power shift will take place on Aug 30 in the next shareholders meeting of the company.

Wada joined the company in 2005 and was later in 2012 appointed as CEO of Wit Studio. He was promoted to Executive Vice President of Production I.G in 2020. He has continued to work in both the roles simultaneously in their respective companies. He will continue to do so post the meeting in August.

While performing his various roles in both the companies Wada has several feathers in his cap which stand as a testimony to his work. Some of the anime’s he has worked on include, Attack On Titan, Psycho Pass season 1 and 2, Ghost in the Shell: Arise, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex: Solid State Society, Kimi No Todoke anime, Vinland Saga to name a few.  

Mitsuhisa Ishikawa joined Tatsunoko Productions post completing his college education. He later co-founded Production I.G, then known as I.G Tatsunoko, with Tatayuki Goto in December 1987. It was renamed in 1993 as Production I.G.

Along with leading Production I.G, Ishikawa also serves as President and CEO of IG Port, which is the parent company of Production I.G Animation studio, Wit Studio, Signal.MD, and publisher Mag Garden.

Similar to Wada, Ishikawa will continue to serve other roles in the respective companies.
