The official website of Oshi No Ko anime announced on Oct 13, 2022, that it will release sometime in 2023, with the first episode of the anime airing in 90 minute extended timeslot.
The site also revealed that Rie Takahashi has been cast to voice one of the main character and idol, Ai Hoshino, as well as her comment on the role.
“I am pleased to announce that I will be voicing Ai in this anime adaptation. Personally, I have been following both the serialization and the book version of my favourite work Oshi No Ko….
My heart jumped when I heard the news of the anime adaptation, I was moved as a reader by the love of the staff in the proposal I received, I trembled at the opportunity to audition, and I couldn’t stop crying when I heard the news of the decision.
I will do my best to bring color to Ai’s shining moment with my voice, and I will do my best with all my love.
I would like to ask for your continued support for the anime ‘Oshi No Ko’.“
In addition to this, a new key visual was also unveiled to commemorate the announcement.
The anime adaptation is being done by Doga Kobo. Along with the visual, the key staff involved in the animation production were also revealed.
Daisuke Hiramaki will be directing the anime, while Saori Tachibana will serve as the assistant director. Series composition will be handled by Jin Tanaka and Kanna Hiramiya will be in charge of character designs.
Akasaka who is the writer of the original manga said that the anime adaptation will be a good work, and asked fans to look forward to it.
Oshi no Ko is a manga series written by Kaguya Sama: Love is War creator Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari, who is author of Kuzu no Honkai. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump since April 2020, with its chapters collected in seven tankōbon volumes as of February 2022.
MAL describes the plot of the manga as follows;
