The official X account of One-Punch Man announced that the second cour of anime’s third season will be released in 2027. An announcement video and teaser visual were also revealed.
The first cour of Season 3 ended with Saitama’s battle against Monster King Orochi reaching its conclusion. The newly released teaser suggests an impending confrontation between Saitama and Garou, with the teaser visual depicting the two characters facing off.

Season 3 has aired amid notable criticism from viewers, with online discussion frequently focusing on the decline in production quality.
Episode 6 of the season received a rating of 1.5 on IMDb, making it the lowest-rated anime episode on the platform. Skepticism had also surrounded the appointment of director Shinpei Nagai, as well as J.C. Staff’s continued involvement following the mixed reception of the previous season.
Veteran animator Takashi Hashimoto, who is part of the season 3 production team, addressed the criticism in a post on Bluesky. Hashimoto, whose past credits include Your Name., Ghost In The Shell, and Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, urged viewers to consider the people behind the production and warned that continued harassment could lead to staff departures.
Amid the backlash, director Shinpei Nagai deleted his X account, citing the toll of sustained online harassment.
One-Punch Man season 3 aired from Oct 12 to Dec 28, 2025.
The first season of the anime, produced by Madhouse, was broadcast in Japan from October to December 2015. A second season, produced by J.C. Staff, was broadcast from April to July 2019.
