One-Punch Man Illustrator Yusuke Murata Announces His First Anime Project

One Punch Man illustrator Yusuke Murata took to Twitter to announce his first anime project on Feb 24, 2022. In order to commemorate the big announcement, he also posted a video revealing the title and the main characters of the new anime.

I am making this kind of animation. It will be released soon. Please look forward to it!,” he tweeted.

The anime is titled Zaiyuki. It is a story of fortune, crime and courage. Murata described the plot as:

The plot follows a weak kappa boy, who gets involved in a commotion over a rogue’s robbery of treasure, and also portrays his growth in the course of his journey.

The names (a rough translation) and visuals of the main characters were also revealed. Check them out below:

  • Kappa Gojyo and treasure hunter Genjo
  • Ms. Ros, a partner of Genjo
  • The Great Sage Equal to Heaven (Juvenile)

In addition to being Murata’s first anime, it’ll also be the first one Village Studio will be animating. More details regarding the release date, trailer and cast information are yet to be revealed.

Yusuke Murata is a Japanese manga artist and animator, best known for illustrating One’s One-Punch Man, serialized in the Weekly Young Jump online version.

Murata’s other major work is his illustration of the American football manga Eyeshield 21, in collaboration with writer Riichiro Inagaki. Eyeshield 21 was serialized between July 2002 and June 2009 in Weekly Shonen Jump, and was later adapted into an anime television series.
