Crunchyroll announced that Kappei Yamaguchi and Hiroaki Hirata, the Japanese voice actors of Usopp and Sanji from One Piece anime will be attending the upcoming Mumbai Comic Con on April 12, 2025.
A multitude of anime fans in India have followed Luffy’s journey on the screens ardently over the years. However, this will be the first ever time that these two voice actors set foot in India, making this moment all the more historic for these fans.
According to Crunchyroll, attendees will get to experience behind-the-scenes stories and insights from Yamaguchi and Hirata on voicing two iconic Straw Hat Pirates.
Both Kappei Yamaguchi and Hiroaki Hirata shared their excitement on being able to visit Mumbai, with Hirata (Sanji’s VA) specifically asking the ladies of Mumbai to wait for him!
“I’m visiting Mumbai for the first time! It’s always so exciting to be able to meet One Piece fans from across the globe. Let’s all have a fun time together,” Yamaguchi said.
“I’m very excited for my first visit to India. I’ll learn lots of Indian recipes so I can prepare them for Nami and the others! Ladies of Mumbai, wait for me, okay,” Hirata said.
Bringing these two voice actors is a part of Crunchyroll’s mission to make India the ultimate anime hotspot.
