One Piece: Red To Release In US, Canada, Australia And New Zealand This Fall

It is the fourth instalment in the One Piece Film franchise and is set to release in Japan on Aug 6, 2022.

The streaming site Crunchyroll and TOEI Animation announced that they will release One Piece: Red movie in selected theatres in US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand in Fall this year. The movie will be released in both subbed and dubbed versions.

The movie is the 15th movie in the One Piece franchise. The movie will also have a panel in Anime Expo 2022, taking place on July 1-4. It will feature One Piece producer Shinji Shimizu, English VAs Brandon Potter (Shanks) and Ian Sinclair (Brook), and ADR director Anthony Bowling.

The studio, TOEI Animation, will be featuring a series of events to celebrate the movie which includes “One Piece Film: Red presents Steve Aoki Live,” a one night music event. In that event, two-time Grammy nominated artist Steve Aoki will be performing.

The movie’s world premiere will however be held on July 22, which also celebrated as the One Piece Day

Goro Taniguchi returns to the franchise for the first time since 1998 to direct One Piece Film: Red. Tsutomu Kuroiwa will be in charge of the screenplay. TOEI Animation is animating the film with original author Eiichiro Oda serving as executive producer.

  • Music: Yasutaka Nakata
  • Director of Photography: Tsunetaka Ema
  • Color Design: Sayako Yokoyama

The movie features and centers on the mysterious character Uta, who is teased to be Shanks daughter in the teaser. Uta’s character design was revealed on March 28, 2022. 

One Piece Film: Red also unveiled the cast for the Red Haired Pirates and character visuals for the marines and the world government characters recently.
