One Piece Film Red Unveils Casts For Red Hair Pirates

Film opens in Japan on August 6.

The official website for One Piece Film Red unveiled a new character video on June 10, 2022, for the Red Hair Pirates. The video reveals the character designs and voice cast for each pirate.

The new cast includes:

  • Kenichi Ono: Lime Juice
  • Kotaro Nakamura: Bonk Punch
  • Bin Shimada: Monster
  • Issei Futamata: Building Snake
  • Hikaru Midorikawa: Hongou
  • Jouji Nakata: Howling Gabu.

Shuichi Ikeda as Shanks, Aruno Tahara as Ben Beckman, Jin Domon as Lucky Roux, Michitaka Kobayashi as Yassop, and Shiro Saito as Rockstar are among the five voice cast members who have already appeared in previous anime episodes.

Previously released cast members include Kaori Nazuka (voice cast) and Ado (singing cast) as Uta, and Kenjiro Suda as Gordon.

The film will center on a new character named Uta, Shanks’ daughter.

Goro Taniguchi returns to the franchise for the first time since 1998 as the director on ONE PIECE FILM RED. Tsutomu Kuroiwa returns from ONE PIECE FILM GOLD to write the screenplay. Toei Animation is producing the anime film with original author Eiichiro Oda serving as executive producer.

A total of 7 songs will be featured in the movie namely, “I am the strongest” performed by Mrs. GREEN APPLE, “Backlight” by Vaundy, “Tot Musica” produced by Hiroyuki Sawano, “Continuing the World” by Yuta Orisaka, “Utakata Lullaby” by FAKE TYPE, and Motohiro Hata’s “Kaze no Yukue”.

Ado will perform the opening theme song “Shinjidai”, produced by Yasutaka Nakata.

Previously, One Piece Film: Red announced that the world premiere of the movie will be held at Tokyo’s Nippon Budokan on Friday, July 22, 2022.

One Piece Film: Red will release on Aug 6, 2022, in Japan. According to the teaser, the release schedule may differ in other countries depending on their location.

One Piece manga will enter a month-long hiatus in June 27 and it will start its final arc in the 34th issue. Before that, Eiichiro Oda’s staff unveiled a new special website for One Piece Day to commemorate the release of the first chapter of One Piece manga on July 22, 1997.

July 22 was established as an official anniversary by the Japan Anniversary Association in 2017.
